Word of mouth is a wonderful thing ,having a fussy six year old and an even fussier 78 year old to feed we tried this pub and thouroughly enjoyed it not bad for a first visit, welcoming and friendly especially to families and the bogof offer on the menu is always welcome....
drinks are actually reasonable food well cooked and served bleeding quick which was a nice surprise as on a friday teatime in a packed pub we were expecting to wait for ever but 15 mins later! food!!!
pleasent beer garden and a small adventure playground topped off our evening, we will be going again!

Totally agree with Jonjo on this. If you are after a cheapish meal in a nice atmosphere with reasonably attentive staff then you wont go far wrong. Its not fine dining nor an old fashioned boozer. It has real ale which is always a plus in my book. One to take your partner to but not worth the diversion on a pub crawl.Mrs Phantom enjoyed the meal.

Marston's pub/restaurant chain. Excellent food well served. Limited ale selection - Pedigree, Cumberland, occasional guest beers. A very pleasant experience & well worth a visit - (or two)
