The Queen Vic is a pretty basic looking pub situated on the busy Gloucester road.
Once inside there is a single oblong shaped room which runs to the rear,the floor is tiled,there is bench seating to the front and left side with chairs,plus a tall table and chairs,there is a dart board to the rear left.
There was one real ale on the bar which was Courage Best,this was a decent drink.
Decent Background music was playing.
A basic pub just the sort i like doing.

On first impressions you can’t help but wonder if the pub is actually open since it looks a little down at heel and there are no obvious signs of life. Closer inspection reveals that it is though. Inside it’s also a little down at heel, but there’s nothing particularly wrong with it. It’s a single room pub with a tiled floor and a slightly depressing shade of brown on the lower half of the walls with cream paintwork above. A couple of colourful pictures have been hung on the wall to try and brighten things up a bit.
The pub seems to have a bit of a sports theme with a plasma or TV in each corner. Numerous flags adorned the ceiling and hung around the bar, and there was a darts board opposite the bar. There was blue fabric covered bench seating around the perimeter, with tables and chairs elsewhere. Stained glass windows at the front of the pub lend a traditional feel to the place. Staff were very friendly, and invited us to help ourselves to a selection of food on the bar, consisting of bread, belly pork, cocktail sausages, cheese and even a tub of margarine to spread on the bread! This is apparently a regular Tuesday night feature, and was a nice touch I thought.
The solitary beer on tap was Courage Best. Ciders were better represented with Thatcher’s Gold and Traditional, plus Pheasant Plucker.
