I think the Great Northern is in Eastwood because it is on the Nottinghamshire side of the River Erewash.
This pub is in quite a nice setting as it is next to the basin at the end of the Erewash canal where there are lots of narrow boats moored.
The pub looks fairly old and used to be a Kimberley tied house it is now a Greene King pub with their usuall range of beers IPA, Abbot ect having said that if your in the area this pub is worth a visit.
