Commanding a nice plot overlooking a wide cricket green, the location has a silly name, but nomenclature-wise slightly shades a previous incarnation as The Toad & Stumps. A patio out front and a small green, both separated by a u-shaped parking bit are great places to commandeer on a nice day (such as we had) and watch a game on the aforementioned cricket green opposite as well as picking up a sunbeam or two. Internally, the room is roughly L-shaped, with an entrance-facing bar and seating front and to the right. Off to the left in what looks like a later addition to the building is the restaurant area (dubbed 'The Longroom') which extends to the back of the pub, giving the internal layout a staple-shape. The bar area is just that, being kepy solely for the noble art and parts of internal decor comprises cricketing quotes, froggy paraphernalia and some black and white photos of a local scooter club gathering, taken from outside the pub. We were interested in eating (food served 12–6 on a Sunday), but were told it was booking only. As I wasn't driving, I was able to try three of the five ale line-up: Dark Star Hophead, Dark Star Tropical Hop and Fuller's Sticky Wicket, with Fuller's London Pride and Gale's HSB untried. The three I sampled all in fair shape. As mentioned below, a standalone building to the pub's right houses a skittle alley (where they hold a yearly beer festival) and a long, narrow car park is out back along with a generous beer garden. Friendly staff are another feather in this pub's cap, however, despite all the plus points, I couldn't get fully excited by the place; maybe it was the one-brewery choice on the stumps or the busy road that whizzes past the cricket pitch and the pub premises, but it wasn't quite the all-rounder it could and should have been.

Update
Now under new management and the guest ale seems to be no more, all five pumps were dispensing Fullers beers last night, these were Pride,Red Fox, Wild River,Seafarers and HSB. I'm no great fan of Fullers in general but the Wild River bucks the trend and was excellent.

Original review 4/8/13
The Frog and Wicket is nowadays a Fullers pub, four hand pumps one of which is usually a guest.Food is served but the pub is at pains to stress it is a pub and not a restaurant ,I think they manage to carry this off.
Situated across the road from what they claim is the oldest functioning cricket pitch in England,I'm sure there ate other claims elsewhere to this fact though.Live music Saturday nights and apparently jazz Sunday lunchtimes .There is also a skittle alley available for hire in a building detached from the pub.All in all not a bad effort for a country pub when many are now food led.

4 well kept real ales accredited by cask marque. Great home cooked food. Super south facing family garden with bouncy castles (summer). Great frontage overlooking Eversley Cricket Club. Skittle Alley, Summer BBQ's, Aunt Sally, Loads of Live Music (see web for details).
