This is a smart wine bar just off St Pauls Square. Nice vine about the place and its s good location away from the city crowds in the more relaxed St Pauls.

No real ale

This is a narrow, detached pub and bistro, with patio area, on the side of the B'ham & Fazeley Canal. It is a three-storey mid-Victorian red brick former warehouse. It has two levels of rounded windows, under a moulded cornice, with a higher ground floor, that was a large rounded window and a small door - all with decorative keystones. The interior has a function room downstairs. The mainroom is accessed by a set of (already open) large doors. It is on a split-level, with walls and ceiling of brown, cream, crimson and greay. There is a wood floor. Tasteful cartoonish paintings are on the walls, with a few bits of sculpture around. Bench seating (covered and with cushions) went with wooden tables and chairs - the tables having flowers in vases on them. A few silent TVs were on the walls, showing general stuff and the background music was mixed and at a decent level. They do food. The service was fine and i was the only one in at my early evening visit. Beer; no real ale, just Amstel, Peroni and Kozel on draught - the Kozel was fine. Whilst in general this isn't my kind of place, i actually enjoyed my stop-off here.
