A large family restaurant type pub owned by Marston’s which is not as old as the half timber exterior suggests. The interior is modern, open plan and almost round, being about 3/4 of a circle with the kitchen in the other 1/4, opposite the main entrance from the car park is a large curved bar counter and on your left as you enter is a brick fire place with a small stove. The single large room is laid out almost entirely for dining with a couple of booths and larger nooks if you require a bit of privacy.

Regular ales are Banks’s Bitter and Mild with two changing guests from the Marston’s portfolio such as Brakspear, Jennings, Ringwood or Wychwood beers. On my last visit there was Ringwood Boondoggle and Marston Burton Bitter.

Not really a pub for a social drink with friends as it’s definitely aimed more at family dining. No individual character to speak of but the food is decent and reasonably priced. Would suggest going in for a quick pint before heading over the road to the Swan for a few drinks in a proper traditional pub.

A large Banks's gastro-pub, with that fake beam and cream render look. Has a beer patio at the back.

A place to go 20 years back! The large interior is open plan and as its so big, feels a little soulless. Thankfully it isnt too modern. The decor sees a mix of red walls and wallpaper, with lots of old photographs of the area, plus some other pictures, such as animals etc. Service was fine, too few people in and the music easy listening stuff.

Beer; tap stuff, with a good choice of Banks's MILD (ok), Bitter, Brakespeare Bitter and Jennings Snecklifter on handpull.

The beer coice would tempt me, the place itself isnt evil, just too big and laid out for the food more than anything.
