No frills old fashioned boozer with a friendly landlady and locals alike. There were 6 handpulls on the go on my Wednesday afternoon visit and the pint of stout I had was top drawer.

A very hearty welcome from the manageress who was very jolly and could be heard across the pub with her booming laugh. This was definitely a locals pub as the majority of the customers knew one another. Six ales on handpump, three from the Burton Bridge Old Cottage Brewery, which is less than a mile away and three guest beers. I went for the BBOC Halcyon Daze, which was decent enough.

No longer owned by the Old Cottage Brewery this pub still acts as their brewery tap. The interior is described at length by Soupy below and nothing has changed since. A very friendly bunch of punters in on a Saturday night, but it wasn't particularly busy. Six handpumps on the go with 3 from Old Cottage and 3 others. All 3 pints I had here were in good condition especially Morton Peach Blonde which I was a bit wary of, but it turned out to be excellent. I'll definitely call in here again next time I'm in Burton.
