David Ross left this review about Wemyss Bay Station Bar

This miniscule bar is located within the magnificent Victorian Wemyss Bay railway station building, which also contains the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal for sailings to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. As such, it gets a lot of passing trade from train and/or ferry passengers. As the only proper pub in the village, excepting the Holiday Park and Caravan Park bars, it is also popular with locals. Being one of the smallest pubs I've ever been in, it was, unsurprisingly, extremely crowded on the Saturday night I dropped in. The half dozen bar stools and limited seating around the walls were fully occupied and even the standing room involved a tight squeeze among the other customers. There isn't even space for a male toilet in the pub and men have to use the station facility, which is only ten seconds walk away across the covered concourse. A pint of Tennent's lager cost me £3.20 and Carling and Stella Artois lagers, East Coast IPA, Belhaven Best, Guinness and Strongbow cider were also on draught. The licensed Station Cafe/Bar immediately adjacent allows children in and serves food. Railway enthusiasts might well make time for a drink here after admiring the outstanding station building itself. It would probably be advisable to visit at a less busy time, such as a weekday afternoon, however.
