A welcome antidote to the Club up the road, this is a pretty, traditional place. Situated on a bank, so it’s up a few steps to enter the small, cosy and carpeted L shaped bar, with a dining room off left. Three ales available; Ruddles (how few we saw in what was the former county home!), GK IPA and Woodfordes Wherry, which the barman (who was actually the chef!) pulled through and we were rewarded with a good fresh beer. Bit of banter with chef and we felt welcomed. To the rear is a decent garden. A nice little place, and my companions were even more enthused – got nominated by them as one of the pubs of the county. Not far off the A1 either, so worth you taking a quick detour to sample. 7.5

One of many lovely buildings in local stone in this pretty village, the Plough has steps up to its front door. It didn't occur to me at the time to check access for disabled people, but there is a back garden and car park, so I expect there wouldn't be any problem. Inside there are two rooms, a dining room to the left and the main bar parlour to the right. This was the busiest of Greetham's three pubs on the quiet Sunday evening when I was here, but the fact that there were only two teams of four involved in the charity quiz gives some idea of how quiet the other two were.
On the bar are four hand pumps, featuring Banks's Mild, Timothy Taylor Golden Best, Bradfield Farmers Pale and Greene King IPA. I went for the Taylors mild - unusual to see two milds on, though May is mild month - and this was in good condition and very enjoyable. This was easily the best of the village's three pubs for me and I would have no problem about calling in again when in the area.

This is a decent looking stone built pub we went in early saturday dinner and it was quite busy there were Three real ales on the bar i had the Belvoir Bitter which was very good the other beers on the bar were Elgoods Black Dog and Timothy Taylor Best Bitter i quite liked this pub ,well worth a visit.
