Paying a return visit to this Brunning & Price establishment, I'd forgotten how far uphill from town this place was. I'd contemplated walking it, but I think I'd have more likely have made it to the hospital than the pub. Nevertheless, it does have some great views of Colwyn Bay and the coast.

Set in a residential area opposite a school, there was a reasonable number of customers in on my Friday lunchtime visit. As with most Brunning & Price pubs, the majority were there for the food. 3 tables are set aside for drinkers near the bar and there are always outdoor areas for drinkers to retreat to.

St Austell Brunning & Price Bitter, Purple Moose Snowdonia Ale & Timothy Taylor Boltmaker appear to be the regular beers. Guests were Conwy Clogwyn Gold & Mobberley Brewhouse 1924. So, a fairly decent range.

Still a good option if arriving by car, especially if you require food.

Brunning and Price pub set high above Colwyn Bay , usual B&P style , open plan with the emphasis on quality food , decent selection of ales mostly from localish micros , my Purple Moose Glaswyn was spot on .

Pen Y Bryn is one of the best pubs, not only the Conwy area but honestly in the whole of North Wales! There is always a great atmosphere found there with a big open plan room (lovely fire roaring in the winter months) and fantastic food. We have never had a bad meal yet (and we have been there a fair few times) and the staff are pleasant and helpful. A big thumbs up - we love it!
