Pub and area named after Jack Cornwell who was awarded the Victoria Cross at the age of 16 whilst serving in the Royal Navy in the 1914-1918 war, sadly he was killed in action at the battle of Jutland at the very young age of 16 aboard the battle ship HMS CHESTER
