We obviously didn't visit the same pub as the reviewer below. An unusual design for a pub with a number of steps up to the main floor as you enter. All one room with some high tables and chairs along with standard dining tables. All the tables were clean, as was the bar area. The barman was friendly and chatty, both with us and the 2 girls who got served after us. This is a Lees pub and their 3 handpumps were all selling Greenfield beers! This is a very clever ploy, not selling Lees beers in a Lees pub. The Greenfield Silver Owl was in top condition and we were tempted to stay for a second, but time was moving on, so we did too. I'll call in again next time we're in Stalybridge.

It wants boarding up again called in Tuesday 14th of January there was a young guy sat in the corner reading a book only person in we went to the bar and stood there and stood there and stood there hi ho the young lad that was reading a book came over and asked what we wanted. The wife asked for a glass of white wine she got it in a dirty glass asked for a clean one he just poured the wine into another glass with a grunt that glass was dirtier than the first one we turned round and walked out
