The Talbot is a very pleasant village pub in a picturesque rural setting, catering for villagers and the odd passing traveler. The food is a little pretentious, but the pub doesn't claim to be restaurant. That said, it was well cooked and enjoyable. Three beers on, all local. I had a pint of Wadworths 6X which was excellent, while the Ringwood Best was just about acceptable. Worth veering off the A30 to find for lunch or an early evening pint in quiet surroundings and will definitely be back in the future.
