GBG 2023 Entry.... as is the Three Horseshoes a short walk away.

Entering through the door, there are signs saying go right if you just want drinks or left for dining.

Freehouse - so a change from the Palmers. Some familiar brews on. I know from untappd I went for a TT Landlord which was in fine condition. I'm fairly sure an Otter was available, along with a couple of others. All detailed on a chalk board in the Stables bar, with the pumps in the main room on the other side.

Some front tables outside to watch the world go by.

Take the door on the right of this 300 year-old former coaching inn’s lobby and you are in the ‘Stable Bar’, which has a small bar area, generally well propped up by customers, quite a few tables, a bar skittles set, and is primarily for drinking.

Or take the door on the left to the ‘Lounge/Dining Room’ and you are in the restaurant area, specialising heavily in seafood served from 12-2 and 6-9pm. It isn’t cheap, starters costing £7-9, mains from £14. We very much enjoyed our food the time we ate here.

There are three ale pumps, serving Tribute (a good one at £3.30) and Doombar. The third used to serve Otter, but they seem to have stopped this for some reason. Though I like the way this pub manages to combine a proper pub feel in the Stable Bar with its restaurant business the other side.
