E TA left this review about The Durley Inn

Recently renovated, this Harvester is a beach bar and diner of the worst kind, most of it in a 1960s annex to a pleasant Georgian house. Now utterly soulless and overcrowded, this bar is what plastic was invented for. On entering you are mugged by robotic staff before you can get to the large central bar counter, who try to steer you to a table and make you eat the usual Harvester junk food and wilted salad. The closest thing to real ale was gas-pumped Speckled Hen; over chilled and gassy, it was worse than the various megakeg offerings which accompanied it on the bar. Parking is problematic when it's busy, and if you are lucky enough to get a place you have to pay for it. The best thing about it is the seaside location, enjoyable if quiet and you can sit on one of the chairs outside, right next to the beach. I might come here if walking past when it's not busy, and I could be tempted to try breakfast which is served from 9AM, but it's certainly not a choice destination as a pub.
