Up in the sticks, roughly between Great Missenden and Wendover, this is an old style classic country pub classing itself as pub and restaurant, and sating both camps perfectly - two clear areas: dining to the left in a narrow, down-stepped area to the left of the central entrance and the remaining, staple-shaped area around the bar is a nice haven for enjoying a pint or two. There's nice olde world dark beams, a semi-inglenook fireplace and a flagstone floor which give off a rustic vibe and polite service and a couple of locAles (Rebellion IPA and Chiltern Pale Ale) were a welcome site. Definitely worth a look-in if you're in the area.
