Situated next to the canal and just down the hill from Burnley Manchester Road train station, this is a fairly large pub that I have regularly overlooked in the past. On this occasion, it was an opportunity for a swift drink before catching a train back to Manchester. In fact, despite the poor reception in the pub, we soon ascertained that all trains were cancelled for the next few hours and we'd need to rush back towards town for a bus instead.

The 5 cask ales mentioned in the previous review have long gone. The keg only selection now is Thatcher's Blood Orange Cider, Dark Berry Cider & Lemon Cider, Coors, Carling, Madri, Peroni, Worthington's Creamflow, Aspalls & Guinness.

There's plenty of seating here in a lengthy room split into different sections. Rolls were available behind the bar, which helped fill a bit of a gap. Despite the convenience of this place for the station, I'll be walking on by next time.

A pleasant converted warehouse pub on the canal. The sheltered towpath seating can be very warm on sunny days. 5 cask ales on which were pretty good. I liked it.

A converted warehouse on the canal. Lots of bare brick and wood panelling, it's a good looking pub. The beer garden is the canal towpath, which was a total suntrap during my visit. Inside there are some comfy seats and lots of tables and chairs for dining. There's a quiz machine and a dartboard and TV's showing sport. They advertise karaoke on Friday and a disco on Saturday. The menu looks fairly unusual and tapas are also available. 2 banks of 3 handpumps doubled up with Moorhouse's Pride Of Pendle & Black Cat plus Copper Dragon Golden Pippin available. The Copper Dragon was a good pint. It's a decent enough pub although the ale selection is pretty pedestrian.
