This pub was built in 2003 at the entrance to the Freeport Shopping Village (now called Junction 32). The Xscape Leisure Complex is also just a few hundred yards further away.
A "Winding Wheel" is the large pully wheel which stands upon a pit shaft operating the lift cage. This pub is close to where the old Glasshoughton Colliery used to be.
Originally built as a Brewers Fayre chain pub, but was taken over in 2006 by The Harvester Pub chain. Serves good value food and caters for families.
