The Bucks Arms is situated on the National Trust-owned Blickling Hall Estate. Views of the Hall itself are stunning. Blickling Hall was the home of Anne Boleyn.
Unfortunately, this is another Norfolk pub where you are not allowed inside unless you're dining. So, drinkers are forced to make do with a small outside area, where a window to the bar has been opened up to serve beers. This was quite a neat idea and the young barmaid was very friendly and accommodating.
The 3 real ales were Woodforde's Nelson's Revenge, Oakham Citra & Grain Oak. However, it was very disappointing again not to be allowed into what is supposed to be a very impressive interior.

A large, colourwashed brick pub, with Jacobean gables,close to Blickling Hall. Inside, a bar in a curious raised boxlike structure, with fire and tables with newspapers and the like. At either end of the front corridor lie rooms laid up for dining, with further rooms opening off to the rear. Eclectic tables, nice square floor tiles and walls painted in quietly sumptuous tones.
A large family group assembled here on a bleak March Thursday lunchtime. Mainly a dining pub, we enjoyed decent sized helpings of interesting food:venison seemed to be to the fore. Four handpumps offered beers from Adnams and Woodefords, though unfortunately the guest beer pump was untenanted. Alongside Adnams Bitter and the ubiquitous Wherry, I was pleased to try Adnams Oyster Stout which complemented the robust food.
Service was efficient and friendly, handling a crowded pub with aplomb. While not exactly a traditional country pub, catering as it does for the National Trust demographic, this is a fine establishment, and we certainly enjoyed our visit. A nice traditional touch:the Gents are accessed from outside.Described as an Inn, there are four or so letting rooms available.
