Presumably the two Georgian town houses it occupies have been knocked into one judging by the spine wall. Residual walls and wooden screens in one side give it an older feel while the other side, containing the servery is more modern styled with exposed brick and stuff. Two groups of five pumps plus the usual kegs on T-bars etc. 7 guests plus the unholy trinity on the cask side.

A very big Wethers. Multi-roomed and on 2 floors plus a beer terrace. The ground floor place has a load of different areas to sit and the servery is L-shaped. 15 handpumps in 3 banks of 5 with the rubbish at the side of the bar. The rest were a decent selection of ales. I liked this Wethers.

The Roebuck is a large city centre spoons located up a small alley on St James street just up from the market square. Being a spoons all the usual stuff is present with Ruddels County (£1.99) and Abbot (£2.35) always available. as well as this they have 11 other hand pubs dedicated to various guests usually priced at £2.15. on my last visit there were beers from Nottingham Brewery (Robin Hood Ale) Welbeck Abbey (Cavendish) Kellham Island (Easy Ryder) as well as contributions from Magpie, Flipside, and Milestone as well as a several others. I opted for a pint of Cavendish and although adequately kept I never fail to be slightly dissapointed with the quality of real ale Wetherspoons provide, by no means was the beer bad but comparing the same beers to a local free house selling the same beer makes me wonder if they can do it why not Wetherspoons. On the plus side this is probably one of the better Wetherspoons in Nottingham with allot of open space and adequate seating, tho this can sometimes contribute to a cold and uninviting atmosphere, especially if the pub is not that busy. Then again the pub sells a larger selection of draught and bottled products than most local Wetherspoons with Asahi and Shipyard Pale Ale available on draught and half a dozen boxes of real cider in the fridges. For a cheap reasonably kept pint you could do far worse the the Roebuck but with the number of brilliant establishments Nottingham has to offer its worth checking out other places that offer better beer and a greatly improved atmosphere.
