The Arrow is a very large and smart sububurban pub that used to be an Home Ales tied house,i think this pub is a rebuild of the Arrow i went in in the early 80s.
This pub does food most of the day and has four pumps on the bar there was Castle Rock Harvets Pale which was a very decent drink ime not sure what was on the other pumps.this pub is a good walk from the middle of Arnold or get the bus here.

Update: New pub built on site of the original Arrow.

The Arrow is at the Junction of Gedling road and is built on the same site as a former pub of the same name (that used to actually resemble an arrow). This is a very large pub under the John bars banner and as such is a little chain like. Upon entering there is a very large bar across the back wall in the centre of a very long room that bends around. There are high tables and chairs nearer to the bar area and loads at either end with food being a very big player in there. There is also even more seating upstairs and on my last visit I swore there was some sort of casino night with a roulette wheel spinning. There is also some good outside seating that is good in the summer. The decor is the usual chain type with the floor part carpeted and part wood. There is also a lot of draped and decorations around the pub withy many flags and posters. Sport is also a very big thing here with numerous plasma telly’s and pull down big screens for all the sporting events. The beer selection was quite good if you look past the GK IPA, Doombar And Abbot hogging up three of the pumps. The other three were dispensing Shipstons Gold Star, Westerham Brewery’s British Bulldog and Dukeries brewery Elsi pale at a good £2.87. This was a nice beer in a good condition. Overall not the most exciting of pubs but very inoffensive. I wouldn’t come here on a regular but on a big sporting occasion such as the big boxing match in a few weeks’ time this would be a very viable option with all the space and the selection of well-kept good conditioned beer. Overall a pleasant experience was had and although a bit chain and family orientated it is worth popping in for a pint if around here as it is the best in the close surrounding area.
