E TA left this review about The Full Moon

A shabby Victorian back street pub, much like the Old Crown just down the road, which was once on the main route but is now bypassed and in a backwater.  The building has not been well maintained, it smells musty and there is mould on the ceiling in various places, which means overall it just feels grubby.  On the left is a large public bar with pool, darts and a TV screen, while on the right a smaller saloon bar has a TV.  The car park is at the back, small and not easily accessible, while there is no proper garden, just a waterlogged dirty terrace which is only of any use to standing smokers when the weather allows.  There is no real ale – Courage Best was advertised on a handpump, but when we ordered this it was dispensed from a keg and was rather unenjoyable.  The barman was helpful but not that welcoming and certainly didn’t seem to want us there.  This one is on the dark side and I shan’t be showing my backside here anytime soon.
