A nice looking pub from outside and not too bad inside. Its a largish place and is basically split into 3 areas with the large room where the bar is and 2 areas left and right as you enter. Bare brick walls are a main feature and the bar had 4 handpumps on. Worth a visit.

Ian Mapp left this review about The Red Lion

Looking for the finest pub in Leek and after a couple of false starts (Black Swan had all the real ale pumps turned around. Bird in Hand had some very strange music blasting away), I came to the red lion.

Classy interior. Four real ales - two from Hydes brewery. They let me have a sample of the Crown Golden and it was superb. Then I was equally surprised by the low price - £2.80.

Excellent place.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Red Lion

A large pub this one, with a lot of open floor space, so I imagine this pub caters for the night time trade. The interior was modern, but I did like the orignal exposed brick and stone, which gave good feature. The Hydes beer was very reasonably priced, as it's a tied house. At £2.40 a pint and well kept, I couldn't complain.
