A slightly different Spoons, as mentioned below in an old garage with motor sport connections which provides the general theme. I am not quite sure how the prominent shelves of books come in, but I quite liked the overall feel of the place, with completely different styles in different areas. Service seemed a little patchy but the beers were fine. Guest ales were Flack's Black Jack, By The Horns Stiff Upper Lip and Oakham JHB.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Jack Fairman (Lloyds no 1)

Large 'spoons, initially looking like an Art Deco former cinema, but actually a converted 1930s garage once owned by the local Fairman family (of whom Jack was a famous racing driver). Some attempt has been made to break up the space, but it does remain a bit of a gloomy barn. However, if the weather permits, there is also a reasonable amount of seating out on the front pavement. Eight of ten handpumps in operation, with a couple of local(ish) Westerham beers on offer, but I went for the Goldmark American Hop Idol (£2.55).

This has already been well described below but I would add that the right hand side seems to have a dropped ceiling making it more attractive while the left hand side and the bar retain the shed like nature of the building including exposed ventilation ducts giving it all a rather bizarre appearance. On my Thursday afternoon visit the clientele was mixed but it mainly consisted of older people in for meals.
The ten hand pumps on my visit didn't have a great selection as Hog's Back IPA was available soon, Ruddles, Doom Bore and the Locale Pilgrim's Progress were doubled up. This left Abbot, Milk Street Funky Monkey or Firebird No. 79 Pale Ale. I went for the Firebird brew which was in very good condition but not a particularly memorable brew.
It's a Lloyds so may transform itself into Nightmare On Elm Street after 21:00 on Friday and Saturday but I thought it was OK.
