Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about New Baron of Hinckley

Newly reincarnated by the local Elmesthorpe Brewery following its closure as a Wetherspoons, this is a bold step by a small company so I hope it succeeds. Initial signs are good, however, because it was doing very good business early on a Wednesday evening, with nearly all tables on the three, slightly split, levels in use. Food and drink offers are very competitive too, closely matching those offered by the former regime. My pint of Baron's Best Bitter (on of two in-house brews) was just £2.29, with Theakston's Best and a cider also available from the bank of six handpumps.

Visit 12 August 2017

The beer choice was even more pathetic on my Saturday morning visit with the JDW Trio Of Doom doubled, two available soon (one a cider), Hobgoblin and Pedigree. It was only the fact that there were some ciders from the festival three weeks earlier that saved the day but even they were 20p dearer than last year. Score reduced from 5 to 3 for this complete waste of time.

Visit June 2016

This is a long narrow shop conversion that is split between three levels. The lower level has the bar on the right and mostly tall tables and chairs. The steps leading to the small middle level include a folding wheelchair lift on the left and has just low tables and chairs while a further staircase leads to the larger third level. Unsurprisingly yet more flights of stairs lead to the toilets so these are the preserve of mountaineers and hill walkers only.
Although the bar has two sets of five hand pumps the beer choice was pathetic with one available soon, a cider, the JDW Trio Of Doom with the two GK beers doubled up, Hobgoblin and Adnam's Broadside. This meant the solitary guest ale was the International Everard's Defender. As a result I went for the Black Dragon cider (£2.69) which on a hot thundery day went down a treat.
Normally the rubbish beer choice would drag the score down but as apart from that it was a decent well run Spoons I'll let it off with a five.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Baron of Hinckley (JD Wetherspoon)

I agree with Aqualung, nothing exciting on the beer front in this Spoons. One guest was all we could get excited about, so we went for the Grainstore Rutland Beast. This was a comfortable and respectable Spoons, on three levels with the rear part of the pub opening out to a small patio area. The main colour theme throughout was dark blue and beige.
