Thoroughly refurbished pub with a mix of furniture types and generally light decor, all in a semi-modern style, across the various seating areas on two slightly different levels. Also has a front patio garden that you pass through on the way to the main entrance. Looks from a distance the sort of place to do food so it's a surprise to find no obvious sign of menus on my early evening visit. I found three of six handpumps in use, unusually with two ciders and just on real ale: Holden's Summer Buzz (£3.40).

Now The Malt, and fully revamped. The patio remains and there is a separate function room. The top area of the main room is now a restaurant, with a lower bar area that is modern in its decor - smart for those that like it. There is Sky TV. Service is friendly and it attracts a mixed clientele. Some interesting keg beers and 5 handpulls that have real ales and ciders. There were three ales on at my last visit, the Enville Ale being fine. Definitely worth a visit.

A detached white rendered and brick pub, with front patio area. Blowers was founded by Arthur Blower in the 1920s, from coal profits. It was once Landywood Working Men's Club

The interior is a U-shaped open plan room around the central bar, with a corridor that goes past the bogs (currently being re-vamped) to a room with a couple of pool tables in. The decor has changed since my last visit - gone is the all wood to be replaced by an eclectic mix of dark brown patterned paper, with a lower white embossed wallpaper; gold patterned wallpaper, white plaster and wood beam and an undressed brick fireplace with a clock on it and a wood panelled chinmey breast with a little tiled fireplace. On the one side there are old photos of Gt Wyrley and the other, well, nothing but the dart board. On the one side there are comfy chairs, pouffes and traditional chairs, on the other pew seating, with a few bar stools. Both ends of the U-shape had TVs - one was not on, the other had some charty music channel. The service was fine and there was a few locals in.

Beer; well, all tap stuff still, a pretty basic choice.

It is a place for the sport, music TV and overall, the younger market. Whilst it isn't my thing, it seems generally popular and fills a niche locally.
