Real Ale Ray left this review about The Hop

Four real ales from Ossett and four guest on our visit. I didn't see any Ossett Inception in their line up, so we decided to go for their guest ales which were Oakham Bishops Farewell and Helmsley IPA, both beers were good. Service in here was good and seating wasn't a problem neither due to the sheer size of the place.

The Hop is a large pub that was converted from an old tramshed, you can still see the tram lines outside the pub.
Once inside there is a large square shaped room with the bar facing, the ceilings are high, the floor is bare boarded, the bar area is up a couple of steps, the seating is a mix of tall tables and chairs, plus normal tables and chairs, there is a raised area to the rear left.
The pub is an Ossett brewery tied house with a very good choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Rat White Rat which went down very well after a walk in driving rain, the other beers noted were Ossett Blonde /Big Red /Silver King /Excelsior,Saltaire Blonde,Black Sheep bitter,Plus a beer from Bingley brewery.
There were TVs showing sky football updates.
The pub was packed on my Saturday afternoon visit with both drinkers and diners.
Not really my sort of pub,but it was nice to get warm and out of the rain.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Hop

Formerly known as the Tramshed, and remains of the tracks are still visible in front patio beer garden. Benefits from a high ceiling, full-height picture windows and roof lights which all help give a very airy feel. Mix of furniture on different levels (including a mezzanine at the back above the 'U'-shaped bar counter). Open pizzeria worktop and oven to one side where you can watch your meal being made and cooked. As an Ossett Brewery house, four of the eight handpumps offered their own beers with Black Sheep, Shiny New World and Salamander Peacock Porter (£3.05) as guests plus a cider available when I visited. Worth the short walk out from the main part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
