A long and narrow pub with plenty of seating options, plus a rear patio area. The bar area was on the immediate right and hosted eight handpumps, with nothing really outlandish on my visit, so I went for the Exe Valley Brewery Fryers Thirst, a golden ale which was fine. The main interior features was a collection of coloured glass ceiling lights and pendant ceiling lights, plus tartan upholstered booths down the left hand side. The place was busy with diners on my Friday afternoon visit. Still I did manage to get a seat at a table for four, down the back of the pub. However I didn't stay seated for long as I gave the table away to a family of four who were very grateful.

I was rather unsure what the previous use of this building would have been but the JDW web site confirms it was a shop and a Co-Op before they took it on. It's a long narrow room with a raised area to the left, the bar on the right and a patio at the far rear. Some of the punters seemed to be red faced old coots with the ruddy complexion coming from a day wasted on the nearby golf course rather than necking pints of rough cider in here.
It was packed with mostly people after food on an early Tuesday evening.
The bar only has two sets of four hand pumps which had two unused, Ruddles, Doom Bore, a cider, Peerless Langton Spin, Brain's SA and Wells Bombardier. I went for the Peerless beer which was in good nick.
I thought this was a reasonable Spoons but it's a shame about the average beer choice.

Wetherspoons. So you know what you're getting. Service slightly better than you usually get. Its a generic large open plan place with a small pavement area out front to sit in and a small courtyard-like bit out back. Apart from the usual Wethers staple beers it does have a range of changing beers. Can be noisy-brat friendly of an afternoon.
