Since being taken over by Dave and his family in Summer 2007, The Black Horse has undergone a £30,000 refurbishment to become one of the best music venues in Birmingham. Downstairs you will find a veritable tribute to past stars of the rock scene, instruments hanging suspended from the celing, and calligraphy hand-letterd around the bar reminding you of lyrics from well-loved rock songs.
The bar area downstairs is comfortable; there is a pool table at the "back" of the pub, though this area is also treated as the "front" by smokers - there is a large, comfortable, heated outdoor smoking area.
The music is rock, and all sub-genres; Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays have punk, rock or metal gigs upstairs.
