A totally nondescript square beige box from the outside. The external lights weren't on, so I wasn't sure it was even open from a distance in the evening gloom. It's been opened out with a bar area to the front, a room to the rear with a dartboard and another area which could almost pass for a lounge. 3 older guys sat at the bar, not talking to each other or the landlady. A total morgue on a Friday evening. There's no real ale of course. A woman came in a few minutes later and the landlady was telling her that she was going to Australia for 5 weeks soon. No idea where she was getting the money from, it didn't look like this place could fund the trip.

Of a weekday afternoon this place isn't too bad. Its not great and there is no real ale here but it was friendly enough. Basically a pub with 2 areas. To the left is a small area and to the right a larger area with a pool table. Its a simple local.

a fab pub in great location facing old cop shop. a fantastic pint pool table and duke box prob my fav pub in heywood and the locals have got character.
