With 10 minutes before the last bus back to Camborne I thought I could squeeze a quick half in here as it was literally a minute away from the bus station. Just my luck that the Regional Manager was in on an unannounced visit which meant I got two free ales that had been poured as part of the inspection; the barmaid knew I was a RAT as soon as she spotted me. For the record they were from Ringwood and Brains, both NBSS 3.5. Mind over matter with the bladder on the latter half of the journey back to the digs though. Rammed and a very locally atmosphere – boisterous without being overbearing.

April 2009
As far as 'Spoons go, this is one of their nicer ones (and is new – a 2006 opener). A classic cavernous interior which nonetheless feels a bit more homely than the usual which is also set in the nice surroundings of Lemon Quay. The usual Spoons ales on at the bar, plus three decent guests which were in good nick. Prices were at the higher end of the 'Spoons spectrum, Truro must be posher than I thought. There's plenty of history dotted around the walls and the place is bright and nicely lit, with a nice mix of exposed brickwork and woodwork. My main gripe was that old dishes and food condiments weren't cleared away, taking the shine off the interior décor - tut tut. Not bad at all, worth a stop for a decent beer outside of Friday/Saturday nights I'd wager. Rated 6

Situated on Truro's main square.
We ran i here as it started to piss it down.
There is a long oblong shaped room running to the rear where there is a small raised area, the bar is on the front left side.
Normal Spoons seating.
It was packed on our Monday dinner visit.
We had a drink of Skinner Cornish Knocker, which was a decent drink,i could not be bothered to note any other real ales as the pub was so busy.
This is one of the worst Wetherspoons i have been in.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Try Dowr (Lloyds No 1)

Elongated, anonymous, modern 'spoons (supposedly a Lloyds No 1)on the Lemon Quay piazza. Not a lot of natural light inside, but the decor and illumination both help. Also has a few tables out front on the pavement. Total of eight real ales from the two banks of five handpumps - none particularly local as far as I could see - and I ended up with a Lemongrass Thai PA from Daleside which went well enough with my 'Fish Friday' lunch.
