ROB Camra left this review about The Becketts Bank (JD Wetherspoon)

Called in over the weekend. No problem getting served and the guest beer range was very good. It is a bit of a shame that not much character has been preserved in here, but it is a pub aimed at vertical drinking at the weekends. Maybe we were lucky, but it was better than expected after the last few reviews.

Hasn't changed much in the last two days, except that there are now several 'coming soons'. My beer was ok but another pint was decidedly off. Change volunteered, but signs that not all is well in the cellar.

Old Boots left this review about The Becketts Bank (JD Wetherspoon)

An ex-bank with a crudely inserted mezzanine floor and some dreadful air-con pipework disfiguring an otherwise pleasant neo-classical space. Usual 'spoons light wood furnishings, a long wait even when quiet and with three serving, usual 5 + 5 pulls with some interesting beers but abysmally kept although no doubles or “coming soon” among them. Lots of screens showing sport, unusually the sound was up. Not a must visit venue, in fact one of those soul sapping experiences, so devoid of pleasure that not even the imbibing of poor quality alcohol can hide the pain.
