A faux industrial era new build Marston's pub with non functional chimney with Banks's insignia. There is the bar infront of the entrance ,some circular banquettes in a front porch area,a darts board to the left opposite a small raised area with spotlights for the occasional live music. The other side has a small raised dining area,a mute flatscreen and more seating infront of exposed brick fireplace, while the first floor was roped off,but I would assume mainly for dining or private hire.Signs everywhere offering meal and drinks deals on different days but it wasn't working as the pub was virtually empty.
There are 4 handpumps which will offer ales from the Marston's stable but on my trip 3 clips were reversed while the remaining Pedigree was clear but lifeless, with an increasing woody tang as more was consumed.I failed to finish my pint, cheap at £2.75 for a reason.
No one seems to care in this chain pub and I found the 'spoons and Garrisons to be far better options at The Waterfront. One to avoid in future.

Formerly the Brewers Wharf, now converted into a seemingly unbranded (if you ignore the huge Banks's legacy lettering on the chimney) Marston's pub / restaurant beside the Dudley No 1 Canal. Being an old industrial building, the various seating / dining areas are fitted in where they can around the central bar and kitchen area. Refitted with fairly standard semi-modern furnishings, but some of the decorative features add a little interest. There is also an equally large (if not larger) bar upstairs, although this was closed off when I visited, and wooden tables outside by the water. Disappointingly, just two of the handpumps on the main counter were in use, dispensing Young's 485c (a new one on me, £2.85) and Old Empire IPA.

First visit since the rebrand. It doesn't look that different inside, still geared towards food with some outside seating alongside the canal. Only Marstons Pedigree and Old Empire on the ale front. The Old Empire wasn't the best so I moved onto Shipyard pale ale which went off. I ended up with a bottle of Shipyard. Just about OK for an escape from the shops of "Merry Hell" but then again where wouldn't be??
