The Stubbing Wharf is a stone built pub that is next to the Rochdale canal and a decent walk from the middle of Hebden Bridge when it is chucking it down.
Once inside there is a single square shaped room with the bar on the right side, the floor is bare boarded, there is bench seating and lots of normal tables and chairs in the middle area, pus one tall table and chairs to the left of the bar.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Roosters Wild Mule which was a decent drink, the other real ales noted were Rat White Rat,Bowland Buster,Saltaire Blonde,Taylor Landlord,Black Sheep Bitter and Daleside Blonde.
The pub was packed on my Saturday dinner visit with virtually all having meals,i had to prop the bar up.
Not really my type of pub and probably not worth the walk here especially when it was raining hard.

A food- and family-oriented pub, with more babies under six months than I've seen in one place for a long time (I don't see many maternity wards these days, obviously). There's a surprising number of hand pumps - nine - though three of these are for cider. the beers (five of them) were much of a muchness: Timothy Taylor Landlord, Copper Dragon Golden Pippin. Osset Excelsior, Rudgate Jorvik and Black Sheep Best. I wouldn't make a special effort to come here again, though if I were on the canal, either boating or walking, I'm sure I'd be glad of the opportunity for refreshment.

Not a lot of add to Mr P's review, food orientated but still pubby enough to enjoy a few well kept pints, justifying the GBG entry. All tables are numbered,so you may get someone eating next to you but hey ho.I was pleased to see that you need to order food from a different position from where you order drinks,an excellent way to avoid ordering frustration.Despite all the food on offer, the pub is dog friendly .There was a good rock tape playing, and the bar staff were young and friendly. The menu is extensive but some dishes are with "jus" which doesn't seem to fit well in West Yorkshire, although this is Hebden Bridge with all it's sapphist influence.
Boat trips operate from the towpath behind the pub,so expect tourists ,but this a pub I would be happy to visit again for a decent pint or two.
