Quite a nice modern vibe in here, fairly busy but service was brisk. Three handpulls on the bar with two available, Allsopps IPA and London Brewing London Lush with a price tag of £6.60 for a 3.8% beer, ouch, the third handle had London Pride coming soon, a range of around ten craft beers looked ok but I shudder to think of the financial hurt.Despite the expense I quite liked the pub but if I should return It'll be a half.

A typical London corner pub, the original layout long gone and now one large room with a bar counter on the back wall. There are three hand pumps but a plethora of keg beers which seem to be the main focus. Though I'm not sure focus is the right word, as the staff seemed uninterested in me and lacking enthusiasm for their beers. Certainly I didn't feel welcome here which was not the case in the nearby Golden Eagle and Angel in the Fields. My half of Fullers London Pride was ok (NBSS 2.5) but at £6.50/pint for a pretty ordinary beer this pub failed to impress on the beer front as well as the customer service - I got cheaper beers in better condition at both the other pubs.

I warmed to this pub.It's on a street corner and has very good stained glass in the exterior windows and some wood panelling inside.The bar back is large and imposing.The ground floor is square with a drinking shelf between the two front doors and lots of high tables and chairs ,some circular,some long so you may end up sharing the space with other customers.On the first floor there is a restaurant and glancing at the prices it's not cheap but I didn't partake.
The bar was offering three real ales in Allsopps IPA,Fullers London Pride and a decent TT Landlord (£3 half,NBSS 3),while 10 wall mounted taps were offering continental lagers,London based craft keg beer and sparkling cider.A classy jazz track was playing at a sensible volume and no flatscreen for distraction ,the ground floor is popular with drinkers and attracts a mixed crowd.If in the area,pop in for a decent pint.
