after a long walk it was great to arrive at a "gem" with a landlord who was very friendly and had a good selection of ales on pump, he also spent quite some time talking to us about beer, very rare these days. we had HARVIESTOUN schiehallion, Wwe had to drag ourselves away to catch the bus back to Chelmsford. i highly recommend this pub as a "must visit again" and will be doing so in the near future.

This pub is a rural gem. Main bar which seems to be the main eating area with three seperate drinking areas ranging from a tiny room to others for playing darts or bar billiards. Two permanent real ales on with three changing guests.A very warm welcome awaits.Do not miss this one.
