As described below, this pleasant village pub has plenty of parking on gravel at the back and a rather small outside seating area, which was being used solely by smokers when we visited. Overall it was friendly and welcoming, though the barmaid did look bored. The TV was switched off, and there was pleasant music playing. The internal layout is well described by others, below. Sadly there was no real ale on - they had 'just run out and were expecting more tomorrow’. That left a choice of Inch's Cider, which was fine, or Atlantic on keg, plus the megakeg lagers. There was also a large coffee machine on the bar. I suspect that on a good day - one where ale is available - it's a pretty decent village local, so I'll give it another go next time I'm passing.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Nevill Bull

Attractive old inn, somewhat off the beaten track in a small village near the foot of the North Downs. The building retains two main rooms in an overall 'L' shape; a traditional bar with the main entrance and a refurbished dining room off to the side which has smart, semi-modern furniture and decor that still manages to remain in keeping. A few wooden benches can also be found out in the rear yard. Two real ales on handpump: Tonbridge Traditional (£4.30, and in good form) and Kent Brewery Pale.

Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Nevill Bull

The Nevill Bull is the only pub in the village of Birling. Opening times seem to change quite regularly. The last Facebook post I could see showed opening from 11am, but a notice on the door stated midday. Nevertheless, the door was open well before midday and they were happy to serve us drinks.

All tables indoors were booked for diners. Whilst we were only here for a swift half, we elected to sit in a small patio area at the rear of the pub, overlooking the car park.

Kent Pale is the regular beer here and there is generally a guest from Tonbridge. Yesterday, this was Rustic.

Not a bad start to our trip to Kent. But the pub has a bit too much of a focus on food for my liking.
