Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The John Brunt VC
The previously rather plain exterior has been refreshed, but you still have to look hard for the traditional pole-mounted sign which is located some distance away on the other side of the road. Inside, the rusticated layout of four separate seating areas is little changed from the short-lived (and unlamented) 'Hopping Hooden Horse' days. However, there is now a much improved side beer garden, but the most interesting feature remains the display in the former small dining area about Paddock Wood's most famous son (after whom the pub is named). Just Harvey's (£4.60) from the four handpumps on this visit.
