This is a small single room pub with a boarded floor, obviously once two rooms, now semi-separated by a double arched opening around what I guess was once a central chimney. The bar is on the back wall, the bar front and lower wall wainscotting are painted that greyish-green colour popular in modern gastro joints, but this is no foody pub. Upper walls are white with some red panels. No sign of menus but baguettes and paninis are advertised on offer during the 6 Nations Rugby games. England v Wales was on TV at the time, watched by an enthusiastic bunch. Traditional seating, mainly at 4s plus bar stools, a real fire was burning giving a welcoming feel never mind the unseasonally mild weather. It's a GK pub, IPA on a modern shiny font, guests were St Edmund's Ale and Oakham Inferno which was a lovely drop. If St Edmunds Ale is a guest as advertised then so are my kids in my own house. Some outdoor seating to the rear, down a set of steps.
