Featuring in the 2024 Good Beer Guide, this pub has now re-opened. In fact, we'd delayed our visit to the area to ensure we could try this one.

Situated up a small side road off the main thoroughfare through the village, parking is fairly limited.

We walked in to find a smart, single room pub with around a dozen punters and some well behaved dogs on our early Saturday evening visit. This soon changed when a bloke walked in with an out of control dog that was soon running around the back of the bar and creating a bit of a racket! After a few moments of madness, the owner was requested to take it outside!

On the bar, there are 4 cask ales - Marston's Wainwright, Big Hand Seren, Facer's Flintshire Bitter & Theakston Old Peculier. Although it doesn't appear that any of them change. It would at least be nice for them to have a guest beer.

All in all, a decent village local which hasn't been spoiled by its recent refurbishment.

This pub is possibly the most hidden pub I've been to. Situated in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere youre doing well just to even find it. Even if you get the very infrequent no.2 bus which stops close to it you're doing well to spot it. The pub is down a small lane opposite the village bus stop and telephone box. The pub is lovely and very rural with a centrepiece real fire which sort of splits the pub into 2 rooms. There were 2 real ales on on my visit. Its a nice place but be warned that the bus is about 3 times a day and as for taxis good luck. Opening hours ain't great either. It is, however, set in a lovely part of Wales.
