I visited the Colebrooke again this summer, and after walking the six miles over the hills from Douglas, a cold pint in the beer garden was very welcome. Since there are no buses to Crawfordjohn, I also had to walk back. As an update to my previous posting, the owners told me that they are currently closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but open from 12.00 midday until 11.00 p.m. the rest of the week. Food is still served in the evenings and it is "Family Friendly Until 9.00." The pub is up for sale at present and I'm only sorry I can't afford to buy it. It seems like an idyllic place to run a pub.

A surprising find in this tiny, out of the way village. A very attractive country pub serving good food in the evenings. Well worth a detour from the nearby M74, but beware the restricted opening hours.
