Tidy locals pub, a little away from the town centre halfway down a steep hill and presumably exists due to the centre of gravity of Saltash being coast-based a couple of hundred years ago. Some interesting décor items such as a barrel-end bar and wavy wood bar top. Otherwise a fairly plain black and white interior which is a bit careworn. Darts spotted. Three cask on the go; St Austell Tribute, London Pride and a leftfield pick in St Austell Schwarz which was in excellent shape (NBSS 4) so a real surprise there as the place wasn’t on my radar as a quality cask venue. A bit of banter going on and a decent choice of music, with a singalong to Nena’s 99 Red Balloons. I enjoyed my 10 minutes in here and it was a shame that I needed to get gone in order to make sure I got the last train of the day back to Berkshire, as apparently there’s a decent rear garden with a view of the bridge. Saltash surprised me with quality of its beer and I’d pop back over again if I get the chance.

a warm, welcoming pub with hardworking owners that supply amazing food during the week and good roasts on a sunday also fantastic entertainment on the weekends !!!!

Delightful cosy little pub,situated on a steep hill that has a reputation for good food.Check out the supurb two tier beer garden at the rear.
