The pub was very busy when I visited although I was very quickly served. I always ask the barman or owner if it's okay to photograph the pub. More than a few customers were interested in why I was doing this. I mentioned pubs galore website. I was then informed that the place would be given a new paint job on the outside and my opinion was asked. As the pub is finished in a rather drab looking brown clout I mentioned a brighter colour to catch the eye. Overall a very friendly pub. Some of the local customers get a taxi to the pub so all in all considering the amount of pubs in the area in can only be a good thing.

A very basic bar, just across the Clyde from the city centre. It's a rather run down area, consisting mainly of Cash and Carries and warehouses, so it's difficult to see where the locals actually come from. There were only three other customers on the late Friday afternoon when I visited it, although they all knew each other and the barmaid. The range of beers was very limited, with only Belhaven Best and Tennents Lager on draught, in addition to Magners Cider. Although there was a Guinness tap, there was no draught Guinness and I was offered a "draught can" instead. The Rangers crest and replica strip and the Union Jack behind the bar betray which side of the Glaswegian football divide the pub sits on. There is also a sign on the wall saying "No Sectarian Singing," which suggests it's probably busy on match days. Cheap but generally unappealing, The Local is probably best left to the locals.
