It's unusual these days to find a pub that does not appear on CAMRA's Whatpub website. This is one such pub. In fact, with no website or social media presence, I wasn't sure whether I'd find it open.
This is a backstreet local which is rather hidden away off the main drags of Forfar. However, I arrived to find it had only recently been re-opened. Seemingly this news had not filtered through to the locals, as there were only a couple present alongside the friendly young barmaid.
Real ale must have been served in the past, as the pub has an entry in the 2003 Good Beer Guide. However, handpulls have been removed and the keg selection was McEwan's 80/-, Magners & Magners Dark Fruit, Tennent's Lager, Guinness & Guinness Extra Cold & Belhaven Best.
