A corner pub with double-gabled frontage and Georgian styled windows. The pub is a cream render that has a scored effect. There is a rear patio area. It also has live music gigs.

The interior has a couple of rooms though the small back one is not really used for patrons, but more as a storage area as per previous review. When you enter via the front door the serving bar faces you in what is the bar room. The decor is undressed stone and wood panel, with a white and beam ceiling and a stone flag floor. A large stone fireplace is the main feature, along with brass ornaments and fishing ephemera on the walls and dotted about. There was a TV with the motor racing on and the background music was rock based and at a decent level. The service was fine and a couple of locals propped up the bar.

Beer; usual tap stuff with a very good pint of Sharpe's Doombar on handpull.

I really enjoyed my visit here and would return without question

Originally called The Red Lion this pub boasts original beams and a large old fireplace. There is an abundance of piscatorial motifs and other odditys adorning the walls. Bit of a trek to the toilets where you will pass an array of clutter and other articles. When you do reach the gents take note of the old stone from times gone by,that is supported by a wooden trellis. On my visits here found the Sharps Doom Bar quite a good pint
