Fairly basic local pub in the Grangetown area of Cardiff, which was the last Cardiff pub for me to visit in the Good Beer Guide. There are 2 fairly large rooms with a corridor to the rear leading to the toilets.
I opted for the room entered from the corner of the pub. I suspect the second room has its own separate entrance, or you can pass between the two at the rear. For some reason, many of the tables had reserved signs on them. As such, I was forced to take a stool at the bar instead. It didn't appear the sort of place where people would reserve tables for a meal. I guessed that maybe it was quiz night later on, especially as there was a lady occupying one table with a laptop. Perhaps she was the quizmaster?
No longer being tied to Brains, Wye Valley Butty Bach is the regular beer. There was just one guest beer on this occasion, which was Hop Union Maiden Voyage. However, bar staff were pulling another one through. Craft beers were Crafty Devil Fairytale of Cardiff & Mikey Rayer All Dayer, Wye Valley 1985 & New Bristol The Joy of Sesh. There was no real cider.
This pub is a little way out of Cardiff city centre and to be honest, I wouldn't necessarily look to seek it out again.

The Grange is a corner pub that looks like a proper pub,it is situated on the busy penarth road.
Once inside the pub had two seperate rooms, there was a basic bar and and a more comfortable lounge,i had a drink in the lounge which was quite a comfortable room to have a drink in.
The pub is a Brains tied house, there were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Brains bitter which was a very nice drink, the other beers were Brains Dark and Brains SA.
I quite liked this pub,it was worth the walk from the middle of Cardiff.
The Grange is now Cask Marque accredited.
