The El Dorado of Aberdare: Everyone's heard of it; some people know someone who claims to have been there; hardly anyone ever finds it! It's worth the journey. Find Forge View, just follow the lane, and you'll come to The Falcon. Get a taxi, it's easier. It's beside a stream, surrounded by trees, with its own microbrewery on site. They're also noted for their range of real ales. There's food available, they do B&B, and host the occasional gig. (We went to one a couple of years ago and quite literally drank the place dry!) The landlord's an eccentric old chap, very pleasant and there's always a good welcome. It attracts all ages and there's a great atmosphere. It's just the journey home afterwards that ruins it...
