Unashamedly old skool boozer, pine plank wood tongue and groove panelling all the way round the L shaped interior with a long blue L shaped perch in the left corner, fabric fronted lower servery and plenty of trophies on display in backlit display boxes on the bar upper – very Life on Mars, as noted below. Darts and pool. A mature crowd, I was probably the third youngest in there. Odd then, that trance music was the pick on the speakers. One ale pump with the clip turned so a perfunctory Kroney it was. I'm a bit of a sucker for these kind of places - with a decent cask or two I'd be making positive noises.

Unfairly maligned for years, and although a real proper locals' pub, friendly. Decor a little down at heel - pine panelling a la Life On Mars. Very much a darts n pool pun and none the worse for that. Has Old Rosie and Thatchers Gold on tap, which pleases this apple-lover. Not a bad smoking yard.
