The Rose and Crown is tucked away just off the main high street and it is a decent looking stand alone pub.
There was one main room inside and a seperate pool room the main room was quite smart and comfortable and there was a decent choice of beers on the bar with four real ales on,i had a drink of Wye Valley HPA and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Wadworth 6X, Bombadier and Shepherd Neame Spitfire.
I was quite happy having a drink in here.

I was slightly surprised at the condition of this pub and its beer, bearing in mind it has a GBG entry. It is a small, slightly run-down establishment lookign shabby outside and having worm carpets and flaking decor inside, rounded off by an old television and piles of bric-a-brac. The clientele also appeared to be in a state of decline, although the welcome was friendly and the staff pleasant. There were 5 ales on; I had a pint of 6X which was on the turn but still drinkable. Food was available but I didn't eat, although it looked good and wasn't expensive. There was also a large selection of whiskies. This is a proper old locals' pub which offers reasonable beer and a warm welcome, and which, with a little more effort and some investment, could be excellent. I would recommend including it on a crawl but would not necessarily want to stay all evening.
