Been using this pub most Friday nights for about a year. Had mums 70th birthday meal there last August, about 16 of us. Friday nights my mate works late, we then have hour in a gym and stop at this pub on way home for a beer & a pop (for driver), arriving at about 10:50pm. But on Friday 4/4/08 the licensee refused to serve us, telling his staff not to serve anyone who comes in after 10:45. If we were complete strangers, if we were drunk, or if we were a couple of kids I could understand it but we had been doing this for a year, were stone cold sober and mature gents (we're aged 38 and 48). The Government introduced 24hr licencing so grown ups could have a civilised drink when they wanted-but not in Great Wyrley apparently!
